Unlike salt extracted from today’s seas, coarse Himalayan salt does not contain any plastic. Coarse Himalayan salt is mined from the Khewra Salt Mines in Pakistan, one of the largest and oldest salt mines in the world located more than 5,000 feet deep below the Himalayan Mountain range. The salt was formed, before plastic existed, from the evaporation of large bodies of water believed to be primal original seas. Natural, plastic free salt.
